A registered paramedic for 13 years, Mr. Van Horne has been involved in emergency medical services since 1988. Before he was named to his current position overseeing AMR's operations from Florida to Arizona, Mr. Van Horne was AMR's Vice President of Business Development for the West Region. From 2002 to 2005 he served as the Director of Operations for AMR in San Bernardino County, CA. His leadership earned wide respect during the California wildfires for his division's handling of emergency medical communications and operational components during the largest evacuation in the state's history. Prior to joining AMR, Mr. Van Horne founded Arizona Ambulance Transport, which operates five ambulances and has more than 40 employees specializing in long-distance, critical-care transportation. He holds a bachelor of science in Health Systems Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology and earned his MBA in 2001.
