AMR in the Colorado Springs Community

AMR Colorado Springs/El Paso County provides emergency and non-emergency medical transport service for El Paso County and the Colorado Springs area, including the United States Air Force Academy and five surrounding counties. We employ roughly 250 paramedics and EMTs and handle an average of 62,000 calls annually.

Each year the staff donates more than 1,200 hours of service to local nonprofit events. The operation has twice been awarded a community philanthropy award by the Center for Non Profit Excellence for its work in the community. AMR Colorado Springs/El Paso County also created the Sentimental Journey program that takes terminally ill patients on visits to locations selected by the patients. The program has been adopted by AMR operations across the country and has been recognized with state and national awards.
