AMR in the Evansville Community
AMR Evansville provides emergency and non-emergency medical service for the City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County, Indiana. AMR Evansville employs approximately 106 paramedics and EMTs and handles an average of 33,000 ambulance transport calls and about 8,000 wheelchair transport calls annually.
AMR Evansville has developed a very successful STEMI alert program with two local hospitals. The program has dramatically decreased door-to-inflation time for the cardiac catheterization labs at the hospitals. All paramedics are trained in a comprehensive 12-lead interpretation program and have the authority to activate the STEMI team at two local hospitals prior to arriving at the hospital. The operation also operates a bariatric ambulance and a specialty care neonatal/pediatric ambulance for a local health care facility.
AMR Evansville is a community training center for the American Heart Association. The operation also provides public education on 911 access and information about ambulance service and EMS in the community. If you are interested in training, please contact the operation for more information.
